KraussMaffei aims to expand further in Asia

Frank Peters, Vice President of Sales for the KraussMaffei brand, has said that the Group’s strategy of producing large injection moulding machines locally in China to the quality standards of Europe will put the company in a good position to expand in Asia.

The Group is offering customers the opportunity during the show to visit its recently extended production plant in Haiyan, offering an insight into the successful local production of its large MX injection moulding machines. As part of the expansion, KraussMaffei has increased its production capacity for MX machines to double the size it was previously.

"Thanks to our strategy of producing large injection moulding machines locally while maintaining our high European quality standards, we have already set the benchmark in China," commented Peters.

During the show the Group is showing an injection machine from its CX range with SpinForm technology producing multi-part screw-cap closures that are fully assembled and ready-to-use.

On the CXW 200-380/180 SpinForm, three-part polypropylene and polyethylene push-pull screw cap closures for drink bottles are manufactured in a cycle time of 6.4 seconds. The machine produces these closures fully assembled thanks to the TIM (Total Integrated Manufacturing) technology from mould manufacturer, Zahoransky

KraussMaffei says the system in operation demonstrates the ease of producing a fully assembled product in a “compact and efficient cell”, without the need for several machines and an additional assembly station. The Group also says that product changeovers are simplified, so switching production is much easier for manufacturers.

"In particular, this type of flexible production concept is specially tailored to the requirements of manufacturers of packaging and medical technology products in Asia," concluded Peters.
