MAPRA Technik becomes UK distributor for RPM injection moulding machines

Essex-based MAPRA Technik has been appointed the exclusive UK and Ireland distributor for ‘RPM - Rubber and Plastic Machinery of Italy’.

RPM, which is based in the North West of Italy, manufactures a range of injection moulding machines for the processing of rubber and thermosetting resins.

It’s latest addition to its range, the RPM Ecotronic, is an electric machine that the company says is “changing the horizons” of rubber injection moulding thanks to its electric cylinder and drive. This, says RPM, can contribute to a reduction in energy consumption of up to 76 percent, as much as a 30 percent reduction in cycle time and an increase in productivity of up to 22 percent.

Compared with traditional rubber injection moulding, the Ecotronic range is said to dramatically reduce injection time, increase the mould temperature and automatically decrease the vulcanisation time. This reduces platen stress and material waste, increasing productivity and quality of the moulded articles.
