McLaren Plastics purchases granulator as part of machine replacement programme

by

McLaren Plastics has purchased a new granulator and conveyor for its plastics recycling operations as part of its policy of continuous machinery replacement.

The injection moulder, based in Midlothian, Scotland, has seventeen injection moulding machines at its plant. It will use the new Cumberland 3060 granulator and 3.6 metre Virginio Nastri conveyor for handling sprues and more general recycling in house.

For this purpose, McLaren Plastics said the portability of the granulator and the ability to move it around the factory made it an ideal choice.

Supplied through Renmar Plastics Machinery, the Cumberland 3060 is the largest in the ‘30’ series, able to handle up to 360kg of product per hour. The range starts with a machine that can handle up to 50kg per hour and rises to the X1400 which weighs in at over 7 tonnes and can handle up to 1600kg per hour.

The 3.6 metre conveyor delivered to McLaren Plastics is from the Virginio Nastri PNL flatbed range. The PNL is modular allowing customers to specify the length required between 1 and 10 metres and widths from 220mm to 1.2 metres.

“We are very pleased with the granulator and conveyor that Kevin and his team at Renmar supplied to us,” said Neil McLaren, Chairman at McLaren Plastics. “As a family firm we enjoy working with similar suppliers and look forward to doing more business in the future.”
