Romi to present new machines at K 2013

Brazilian manufacturer, Romi, will launch two new injection moulding machines at K 2013.

The company says the decision to launch the models at the show would serve to strengthen its presence in the international market.

Romi will introduce both the new Romi EN 450 and the Romi EL 75, as well as also the recently launched Romi EL 300.

The EL 75 and EL 300 machines are new additions to Romi’s all-electric series for technical and engineering applications. The company says that the machines, which operate using ball-screw and servo driven movements, are “fast, frugal and precise.”

Operating noise levels are said to be less than 60 dB, average energy savings up to 60 percent compared to current hydraulic machines (and up to 80 percent when compared to older technology) and movement accuracy is reportedly to the hundredths of a millimetre. These are the first two models to use the new control CM15, which Romi says is a user-friendly 15” touch-screen control with full connectivity via Internet, VNC Server, FTP server and PVI server.

The other new machine launch, the EN 450, is part of the most recent range of machines released by Romi. The company says it is designed to fill the needs of those looking for a high value, highly efficient machine, which is compact, with low noise level and is easy to operate and to maintain. The EN 450 is equipped with pumps driven by an inverter-controlled motor that Romi says provide energy savings without compromising performance.

William dos Reis, the Director of Plastic Business Unit at Romi, said the company’s focus on recent models is one of “more precision, more efficiency, more productivity and less energy consumption.

“While energy consumption is an obvious and well-justified focus of the industry… the new high level of precision is the true unsung hero. Being capable of delivering the right dosage, cycle after cycle, means less overshooting, therefore, less material waste,” dos Reis continued.
