RPC trainees weigh up positives of blending technology

Packaging manufacturer, RPC Promens, has taken delivery of a new blender at its European Training Centre in Rushden for the traning of new and existing staff.

The Maguire Weigh Scale Blender, provided by Summit Systems, has been installed at the centre, which aims to provide employees across the RPC Promens Group with best practice as a result of its recent growth.

“We have successfully deployed Maguire gravimetric blenders across the group for many years in the UK and Europe. They have worked extremely well and reliably for us and I am pleased to say, to our good fortune, appear to be the preferred standard for most of our recent acquisitions at Superfos and Promens,” explained Carl Boniface, Technical Manager at the RPC Promens Training Centre.

“It therefore makes perfect sense to have this equipment to train our apprentices and operators on best practice across the Group companies.”

The centre mirrors a real production line, with a blow moulder, granulator, belt, blender and various work stations. Pupils and employees are taught how to use equipment and the theory behind it in classroom facilities.

“We have enjoyed an incredibly long partnership with RPC Promens spanning 3 decades and are privileged to support their training scheme. With so many Maguire blenders located throughout their global portfolio, it made perfect sense to provide one for educational purposes,” commented Mike Jordan, Managing Director of Summit Systems.
