Stewart 'rounds up' 27 percent production increase with new rotomoulding machine

Manufacturer of plastic products for the household and gardening industries, Stewart, has invested £400,000 in a new rotational moulding machine that it says will boost its manufacturing capacity, efficiency and speed.

The Oxford-based business has invested in a Ferry RotoSpeed RS-3000, which it hopes will contribute to a 27 percent increase in production across like-for-like manufacturing patterns within a year

“The Ferry RotoSpeed RS-3000 will help us realise our growth potential and enhance our reputation for quality, timely and accurate production,” explained Andy Burns, Managing Director at Stewart.

Stewart will use its new Ferry RotoSpeed RS-3000 to produce its range of decorative planters, the fastest growing category in its business.

“Our analysis shows that the payback period for this investment will be relatively short. Due to the high performance and efficiency of this machine it will do more than three of the existing ones put together. So our productivity will be up considerably in comparison to our current capacity very soon,” he added.

Stewart’s gardening products are stocked in over 1,600 stores across the UK and Eire, including DIY retailers such as B&Q, Homebase and Wilko and garden centres such as Dobbies.
