Biesterfeld Group sees turnover surpass €1 billion

Biesterfeld group surpassed the 1 billion euro turnover mark when their sales increased by 6.1% over the last financial year. The steady growth helped increase their revenue to €1.057 billion.

Biesterfeld Group increased profits despite inconsistent price and margin trends in the rubber and plastics industries as well as weak international trade stimuli last year. The operative profit (EBIT), at around € 29.4m, remained just below prior year's figure (€ 29.7m).

Birger Kuck, CEO of Biesterfeld AG said The Biesterfeld Group expects continued growth in 2014; "In the past year, we were successful in increasing our market share in Europe, expanding into new regions, and widening our portfolio with new products and product groups.”

The family owned company has been in operation for 100 years that now they distribute their products to over 50 locations worldwide. Their core business divisions are: Plastics, Specialty Chemicals and International.

The Biesterfeld Group's positive business development was due in large part to the two business units, Biesterfeld Plastic and Biesterfeld Spezialchemie. The Biesterfeld group also has expanded over the past year with the establishment of Biesterfeld International Ltd., which is based in Thailand.
