Colour masterbatch producer paints a rosy picture for 2014

UK-based Broadway Colours says 2013 was a “record breaking” year for the company during which it saw substantial growth set to continue into the coming year.

The company, based in Halesworth in Suffolk, says that its move to new premises in 2011 allowed it to expand from a site of 15,000 to a total of around 25,000 sq.f.t.,  investing in machinery and new staff in order to satisfy an increase in demand, as well as launching its line of rotational moulding powders with the installation of a new polymer grinding facility.

The substantial growth the company has experienced since has led to further expansion plans for 2014, with a new factory due to be completed in the summer.

The new facility will be 90,000 sq.ft, and Broadway says the space will allow it to combine both its masterbatch and grinding facilities under one roof.

“We have reached another milestone in the company’s history.  By combining our facilities under one roof we are able to maintain our lean manufacturing policy, while delivering even more high quality products and services.  This is an exciting step for Broadway Colours as we will be able to develop and customise this new site so that it is perfectly suited to offering high quality masterbatch and rotational moulding powders with increased capacity levels that allow for many years of future growth,” Nick Barber, Operations Director, commented.

The new site, a short drive from the existing location in Halesworth, will reportedly expand on the company’s colour matching facilities by including a fully tailored, state-of-the-art colour matching suite, as well as extra equipment in a new, larger laboratory and a “more productive” factory floor with more machine space and storage facilities.
