Elastomeric uses Enviro’s recovered carbon black in tyre production

Elastomeric, a subsidiary of the Hexpol Group, has started using Enviro’s recovered carbon black, EnviroCB, for its production of, environmentally friendly compounds, including regular tyre production.

The company placed multiple orders for the material and is currently exploring options for expanding its use to a wider range of components.

Thomas Sörensson, CEO of Enviro, said: “It’s positive that an international actor has now decided to come forward in the market regarding its implementation of our recovered carbon black. Given the industry’s attitude towards sustainable materials, we are convinced that more will follow.”

Elastomeric, with manufacturing facilities in Sri Lanka, is a global polymer producer with approximately 1,000 employees, which primarily produces compounds for material handling equipment industry.
