JSP to invest in additional capacity for ARPRO material

The manufacturer of ARPRO, a lightweight, expanded polypropylene bead foam material, is set to increase capacity following strong growth.

JSP says the additional 10.5 kt/a of capacity, which will be on-stream in 2018, will be located at its existing site in Cheb, in the Czech Republic, taking the ARPRO capacity in EMEA to 37.0 kt/a.

The company says that the growth behind the decision to expand has taken place in long-standing application areas in automotive, multi-use transport packaging and HVAC-R (heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration), as well as in new sectors and from new clients.

A key factor for the rising demand, JSP added, is a result of ARPRO’s “remarkable and unique combination of properties” that facilitate reduced product/part weight, and therefore fuel and energy savings.

The growth is also a product of continuous innovation in the ARPRO product, processing and application, says JSP.

“The additional capacity, together with our constant developments, will enable us to support the growth of our direct clients and end-users,” said Paul Compton, CEO for JSP in EMEA.
