Kraiburg TPE gets creative in colour

Manufacturer of creative products, Staedtler, has joined forces with Kraiburg TPE to offer coloured versions of their successful Wopex pencils.

For more than five years compounds from Kraiburg have been used in the Wopex pencils, and Thermoplast K is now also being used for colour and grip in the new product.  

The compound from the Thermoplast K portfolio has already demonstrated good adhesion to the wood-polymer material of the Wopex pencil, and so the TPE has been applied to the coloured pencils by means of co-extrusion. 

This process results in lower energy costs and production waste than in the conventional production of coloured pencils, since the wood is completely used.

The Thermoplast K compounds are available in 24 precision colours to enable immediate identification of the single colours of the coloured pencils.

The materials used have good haptic properties, which makes the Wopex pencils ergonomic and pleasant to hold.

Thermoplast K is food compliant in accordance with EU regulation, conforms to the EN71/3 standard for toys and is free of latex and PVC.
