Plastribution appointed distributor of ExxonMobil Santoprene TPVs

Materials distributor, Plastribution, has been appointed as an official distributor of ExxonMobil Chemical’s Santoprene thermoplastic vulcanizates (TPVs) in the UK.

The new partnership extends the range of high performance polymers that Leicestershire-based Plastribution carries from ExxonMobil, with the new Santoprene TPV grades available from stock - from standard natural and black products through to more specialised high flow, UV stabilised and low fogging products that are FDA and NSF approved.

Santoprene TPVs have proven to be dependable polymers with cross-linked EPDM properties for flexible engineered parts that require long-term performance. The products are suited to applications requiring durability, improved surface aspects and smooth window operability, such as automotive and demanding industrial parts.

ExxonMobil says compared to alternative materials such as thermoset rubber, Santoprene TPVs offer manufacturing flexibility, ease of processing, the potential for reduced system costs, and the possibility of sustainability benefits.
