Helen has received Chartered Engineer status with the Institution of Mechanical Engineers
M&H Plastics’ has announced its Process Improvement Manager, Helen Cavill, has recently attained Chartered Engineer status with the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, joining a select group of people who have achieved Chartership before the age of 30.
Helen, a graduate of the University of Cambridge, where she read Manufacturing Engineering, has been the company’s Process Improvement Manager for five years and during this time it has supported her efforts to achieve this recognition.
“I couldn’t have achieved this without the great support that I received from M&H,” commented Helen. “In addition to sponsoring relevant training, M&H sought to provide me with projects that would build up the professional competencies required for Chartered Engineer accreditation.”
The portfolio of work Helen submitted to attain Chartership included improvements to UV ink curing and adhesion, R&D on migration barriers, stabilising an Injection Blow Moulding process and developing a secondary process to create a shape that could not be moulded in one stage.
Kevin Pennington, Operations Director at M&H, said: “Helen’s ability to solve issues and create improvements in our production systems have led to greater efficiency and cost savings that we can pass on to our customers.
