Perspex Distribution celebrated the official opening of their largest branch with a customer open day on 24th May.

The Leeds branch is the fifth Perspex Distribution branch and joins existing distribution centres in Blackburn, Tamworth, Chelmsford and Weybridge. The new office will serve customers across Yorkshire and Humberside from the 30,225 sq ft premises.

The new office was opened by Phil Bailey, Vice President EMEA at Lucite International alongside Councillor Richard Lewis of Leeds City Council, Perspex Distribution Managing Director Keith Piggott, and Roger Marsh OBE, Chair of Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership.

Keith Piggott, Managing Director of Perspex Distribution and Lucite International General Manager of European Sheet and Composites, explained: “Our expansion is a direct result of our need to meet customer demand across the region.  Opening our largest operation in Leeds provides us with a strong foundation to grow both our product range and customer base in years to come.

“Basing the branch in Leeds places us central to many key customers and our location within the Leeds City Region enterprise zone is a fantastic base for distribution.  We have also generated 22 new jobs within the site in a range of roles from sales, administration, warehouse and drivers and have welcomed the support from the local council.”

Leeds Branch Manager Jonathan Marsden added: “We are excited to welcome customers to our new Leeds premises today and give them a behind the scenes look at our operation.  Ultimately, our business is about stock availability and quick delivery to match the fast moving pace of our customers.  Our two Holzma HPP500 saws, 500 tonnes of stock and fleet of five delivery vehicles will enable us to meet the growing demand for quality materials in this area.”

The open day provided an opportunity to demonstrate the systems and services available from Perspex Distribution including order optimisation systems, LED schematic planning and their modern cutting machinery.  The full portfolio of products available from Perspex Distribution was also represented through key manufacturing partners including SloanLED, Palram, IPB and Multipanel UK.
