UK manufacturer adds 68th export destination as post-Brexit business booms

by

Lancashire-based manufacturer of plastic housewares and storage products, What More, says its export business is showing no signs of faltering in the months following the UK referendum.

The company announced it is now shipping its products to Vietnam, the 68th country in its export portfolio, which sits alongside other destinations across Asia, South America and also Europe.

The firm's news comes as the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development backtracks on its warning that the UK economy would suffer instant damage following the UK's decision to leave the European Union.

"Brexit has had very little - if any - impact on our business. In advance of June's EU referendum we made strategic plans for either outcome. While many businesses experienced an immediate impact following the Brexit vote, it was very much business as usual for What More and I do not anticipate the UK leaving the European Union to affect the company's growth,” explained Tony Grimshaw, What More’s Director.

"What More's export business looks way beyond Europe, and our export team has been working hard on new markets, with the help of the Department of International Trade, the East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce and the British Home Enhancement Trade Association (BHETA).“
